Is Mexico Travel Safe? Make Velas Your Family Haven This Summer! Kids’ + Teens’ Club & Baby Concierge
When mommy is happy everyone’s happy. As a frequent traveler should, I check the travel advisories each time I take off to Mexico. I’ve been going back for the last 5 years and I find it quite safe, especially if you’re choosing resort destinations where you don’t have to leave during your stay. Crime reports state that it’s college students who like to party and people who wander off into the city near nightclubs who are at most risk for danger. We’re still traveling to most regions except for the ones rated level 4. We use well-respected transportation shuttles or private car/taxi services (If in Puerto Vallarta, use VIP Services at airport exit doors near bar!) to get to resorts. The Resorts will send you a shuttle when you book with them. The drivers are very competent, kind and helpful… don’t be turned off, just stay on task!
The hotels in particular we feel very safe at and return often to, are the properties that have programs for and that cater to all aged children! I feel confident traveling to a 5-star all-inclusive like the VELAS Resorts. Their outstanding cuisine, spectacular beaches, kind staff and gorgeous resort keep us coming back each year. Don’t be scared, be brave. Check the advisories and read my posts. Allow yourself to enjoy this beautiful land and lovely culture. Your soul will thank you for it.
Impeccable Service and Insane Luxury. That’s what all the VELAS Resorts are known for. As you walk in the aromatherapy takes you away immediately. You surrender the minute you experience the check-in process. All guests get a complimentary ‘Welcome neck’ massage when you arrive… Can you see why we’re addicted to this property? I choose Velas not just because they ALWAYS bring me sample plates of all their daily fresh ceviche poolside, but also because they offer refreshing Ice Pops and fruit to kids through out the day as they swim. I can’t event top that service in my own home!
The design of the entire resort inside and out, the beautifully equipped large rooms, and spectacular food will make you a fan for life. I’m a travel blogger and visit many resorts in Mexico. The Velas is one of the few that I return to. There’s yet to be another establishment in Mexico to top the entire offerings for families.
I’m still dreaming of my next meal to be had there this summer! If you like cocktails, this resorts only offers premium drinks, so you know you’re not compromised in any way. I have amazing memories of our trip last week sharing bottles of Prosecco with my girlfriends each day by the pool with fresh bread baskets.
THERE’S MORE! THE BABY FOOD GOES GOURMET AT GRAND VELAS RIVIERA NAYARIT!
Parents can now choose among many gourmet options for babies at the Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. Presented with a menu upon arrival by the resort’s dedicated Baby Concierge, parents can select from a list of gourmet purées for their babies, prepared by Executive Chef Guillaume Morance. Options for the purées include: Pio Pio Purée, made with cooked chicken breast, carrots, zucchini and chicken broth; Moo Purée, made with beef tenderloin, potato, sweet potato and vegetable broth; and Little Shark Purée, made with white fish, celery, leeks, mushroom and vegetable broth. A Vegan Purée, made with white rice, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and vegetable broth, Vegetarian Bunny Purée, made with carrots, corn and vegetable broth and dessert Mothers Happiness Purée, made with apple, pear, peach and rice pudding, are also available. Oh and it’s gets better. When baby’s happy, mama is happy. Right? The Baby Concierge is also on hand to help parents stress less with their young ones, coordinating everything from a crib, Mexican toys, baby floats, and baby clothes to nanny service and gentle bath and shampoo gels. Stimulating the baby’s senses and central nervous system, the Sunrise Massage promotes sensory and cognitive development. For babies 1-3 years old, the treatment encourages babies to differentiate textures and sounds to the tunes of Mozart. The resort also offers baby’s first haircut, which comes with special pampering and a certificate celebrating the milestone.
Kids’ Club For When They’ve Had Enough Swim and Ocean Time
The Kids’ Club offers daily activities, including beach and pool games, cultural programs, nature discovery and arts and crafts. Our tour agent is happy to arrange snorkeling and scuba adventures, whale watching and dolphin encounters, as well as unforgettable bay cruises.
Teens’ Club – Well, Because They’re Teens…
Designed with a fresh and original look, the Teen’s Club is the perfect spot for kids from ages 13 to 18 years old. Its cabins offer Xbox Kinect, billiards and air hockey, and the deli and lounge area are perfect for socializing with other teens, and enjoying karaoke and mini-discos.

The PR team at the Velas Resorts supported my story as a member of the media. I am covering all my kid’s expenses. The point of the trip is to bring traveling families to Mexico and to talk about what we see and how to experience resorts that we feel safe at; my primary focus is travel with kids. No one has told me that I cannot post negative information. No one has told me that I must say positive things. I am always as objective as I can possibly be. I also only promote products, services and vacations that contribute to a family’s well-being.
