Relax & Unwind at the ultimate kids water playground in Palm Springs – Rancho Las Palmas

Palm Springs is just a hot skip and jump from LA – about a 1.5 hour drive. So I took the boys to Omni’s Rancho Las Palmas… Specifically to enjoy the new Splashtopia, a spectacular water playground at this family hotel. The boys enjoyed floating in the 450-foot lazy river, sliding on the the two 100-foot water slides, chilling out in the cliff-side Jacuzzi, and the walking across the sandy beach. Splashtopia features unique water-play zones with fountains and sprinklers for the kids.  I have to be honest, it’s very crowded, but with the right seat, a tasty snack and a cool cocktail I promise you’ll be pleased. The pool closes at 6 pm, so be sure you get cleaned up and head over to the other side of the hotel to enjoy the gorgeous lush patio where kids can eat dinner, roast marshmallows or just run around the property and meet other kids!  Most impressive aspect of this hotel was the super keen life guards. The pool staff were always alert, blowing whistles, and monitoring all lazy river activity. I was quite taken aback by how active they were all day long. I felt my kids were very safe here. We ordered the chicken fingers for lunch and noticed how fresh and good they were. We voted that this hotel by far had the most delish chicken fingers ever. Shhh, I even ordered a plate. I know I’m not 12 or under, but they were unusually delicious! They also have a Starbucks on property so that’s a plus for this mommy. The property is across the street from a mall with all kinds of great family restaurants to choose from. If you’re looking for a desert vacation on your trip through LA, check out Rancho Las Palmas!
