You are in the market and your child throws the dreaded tantrum, or you’re at a play date and your child is being pushy and bossy and then loses control. Toddlers and preschoolers throw tantrums because they have an intense desire to do things, but their mental and motor skills have developed more quickly than their ability to communicate. Because they don’t quite yet have the ability to express frustration, they do so by throwing a tantrum. Tantrums are a part of normal child development. However, there are ways in which parents can learn how prevent them.
